Day 5 - 7/1/2017 Terceira, Azores

Today we arrived in our first port in the Azores, after the first hour back on our clocks to GMT-1, so it feels like we've gained time - on the island of Terceira,

The first thing we did was head to the town centre Vitoria by shuttle which included an impromptu local dance, which Khachik video-d.  There are still a lot of Christmas decorations up and evidence of Christmas markets and Nativity scenes here.

During the afternoon we made an excursion round the Southern Island and the city of Angra.  Explorers team leader Emma was with us and the local guide Jorge was excellent.
The island is Portuguese speaking, uses Euros for currency, and has a very Portuguese feel with black and white mosaic streets.

Khachik managed to seek out a supermarket and bought 5 litres of wine for €8, the shape of things to come.
