Day 6, 8/1/2017 Sea Day to Bermuda

It's warming up slowly and nicely 16 degrees C today, although there's not  lot of stripping off yet swimming and sunbathing. Everyone's entertaining themselves with whatever else is on offer.  Its like a spring day.  Already feels better than being at home in the winter.

In art we practised a new technique - salt to add texture.
We created a stained glass effect with salt.

We also squashed in a talk today about the late Nat King Cole.  Lots of really awful details about his life in segregated America and lots of lovely t.v. clips and memories from the 1960's.  I didn't realise NKC died of lung cancer and refused to stop smoking because he believed smoking was good for his voice.

We learned two new songs in the Oriana vocalists today -  we are making some great progress.
Marching song Do you hear the people sing? from Les Miserables and the Beatles'
Let it Be.  We are really loving this hour just before lunch on a sea day.

Our treat tonight in the Theatre was the girl violin duo Elektra, who we have seen before, but didn't disappoint.  Irish Medley, Hoedown, Vivaldi, a tango + lots more too taxing for my brain to remember, but all really pleasing.  http://elektraviolins.com/gallery/.

It seems  the clocks went back another hour tonight to GMT -2.  We'll have to pay attention and get used to this.
